A parent takes you for a ride one sunny afternoon. A co-worker lingers a minute before leaving the room. A partner says a few encouraging words before you begin another day. A young man meets your gaze as he hands you back your change at the local corner store. A young child gets a reassuring smile that says we are going to be ok.

These might seem like ordinary moments, unremarkable really.

But what if they were life changing, and you didn’t even know it? What if they happened at a time when that person needed reassurance, a warm smile, or a tender moment.

These encounters with the people in your life are stitched together and become the fabric of your past. But more than our past, these moments etched in your memory can lift you from your darkest moments.

In Life In Moments, I explore the seismic impact the smallest of gestures can provide. What you may have thought was a simple encounter, a few words of encouragement, a gentle nod of support, may be the lifeblood of someone’s sheer will to go forward and meet the challenges life has to offer.

Join me in this journey to explore how these encounters impacted my life at the right moment, and more importantly how these moments carried me through some of the most difficult days in my life. A quick glance at my resume seeing a career spanning a stock clerk rising to chief operating officer and launching my own business would seem to conjure up word associations of hard-work, determination, grit. Some of that is true, but that is not the story. I didn’t want to write another business book extolling a philosophy of success.

Instead, I wanted to share my most vulnerable moments along the way. The failures, fears and roadblocks that never make it to short bios and introductions. How those same fears, failures and roadblocks were really gifts that I would treasure for a lifetime.

A resume also leaves off the people who inspired you and provided the push you needed when you wanted to step back.

When you finish this book, I hope for two things:

  1. You realize each day you have an opportunity to impact someone’s life with even the smallest gestures.

  2. If you are feeling fearful, have doubts, or setbacks, you realize that you are not alone. Everyone has those same experiences. It’s how you use them to gain experience and inspire you in the future.

Our moments, seemingly small unremarkable moments, are really quite remarkable.

Life in Moments. A journey to share together.

"A story of one extraordinary man and the people that influenced his life. The moments that lifted him up and took him to places he had never thought imaginable! Honest, raw and inspiring. A must read.”
